Vikings were onto something!

In a recent study co-authored by University of Utah professor David Carrier, it has been suggested that beards can provide more than just a good look. They actually may be able to provide protection in a fight! The study has garnered enough attention to be awarded a 2021 Ig Nobel Peace Prize. First awarded in 1991, Ig Nobel Prizes, presented by Marc Abrahams of the science humor magazine Annals of Improbable Research, are intended to celebrate science that "first make people laugh, and then make them think." This study definitely makes you think, and encourages you to keep growing that protective Mane! https://www.ksl.com/article/50239287/did-beards-evolve-to-protect-men-from-punches-heres-what-u-of-u-researchers-discovered

Brand Ambassador @the_bearded_john_q!

As for most of the country and world, it's been a long year for all of us here at Bearded Mane, but we're excited to begin a new summer, on Father's Day this year! We're even more excited and proud to introduce our newest brand ambassador, the man behind the beard, John Q! As a New England native of Hamden, Connecticut, the former iron worker now works in the railroad industry, where his beard helps to keep him warm on those cold, wintry nights outside. In his motorcycle club, there are often competitions to see who has the longest beard....

Duke University Face Mask Study

In this insane environment, where face mask wearing is seen as a political choice, rather than a scientific one, it's always welcome when scientific experiments prove things. Recently, Duke University released containment tests on different masks, made from a variety of fabric materials....with lasers. If you can't get behind a test like this, then I'm not sure what you believe in anymore. Our 100% cotton masks, fall somewhere between 'Cotton 5' (image 13) and 'Cotton 6' (image 7), generally speaking, in terms of similar materials and style. Which, safety speaking, is a confirmation of the materials that we here, at Bearded Mane, have always been confident, make our masks a superior product, respectively. https://nypost.com/2020/08/11/duke-university-face-mask-researchers-share-more-on-study/

CDC Beard Poster

As we all are living in a very unusual time these days, with the threat of the coronavirus spreading, the eternal question is whether to wear a mask or not, and whether to wear a beard or not. If you do have a beard, and are thinking about shaving it because of this CDC issued info graphic, please consider the facts surrounding our current situation, and the poster itself. This article, by ScienceAlert.com is very informative about both. https://www.sciencealert.com/no-the-cdc-is-not-telling-people-to-shave-to-avoid-covid-19 "Whoever dug the poster up must have missed the actual current coronavirus advice regarding respiratory protection, in which the "CDC does not recommend the routine use of respirators outside of workplace settings (in the community)"." So don't shave that beard just yet, unless of course you're...
